It’s good to indulge in a salad with a creamy, dreamy dressing once in a while. A bit of this, a bit of that and viola, A GARDEN SALAD. 🙂
Usually a garden salad is composed of leafy greens like lettuce, cucumber and cherry tomatoes garnished with croutons and nuts. But it varies with the individual’s preferences. Please feel free to play around with the ingredients and flavour of the salad as per your liking. Have a happy salad day. 🙂
For me everyday is a salad day, which seems all the more exciting when we think about the flavour and as well as the nutrition that it provides.
Ingredients: (Serves 4 people)
- Romaine lettuce- 2 heads
- Onion- 2 medium
- Cherry tomatoes- 10 to 12
- Croutons- 1 cup
- Blanched toasted almonds- ¼ cup
- Mayonnaise- ¼ cup
- Tartar dip- ¼ cup
- Yogurt- 3 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper- to taste
In a bowl combine the mayonnaise, tartar, yoghurt and whisk till a smooth, rich dressing forms. Season with salt, pepper and set aside.
Slit the cherry tomatoes in half and thinly slice onions. Chop the lettuce into bite-size pieces. In another bowl mix all the chopped ingredients and dress with the creamy dressing. Mix in the croutons and almonds. Serve the salad and garnish with a few more nuts.
